Flash Giveaway #3

What inspired you to write your first book?

My first real breakout book was called Refugees and it was YA. It was about an Afghan guy, Johar and an American runaway, Dawn who were both refugees of a sort. I was fascinated by the idea of studying whether their journeys might be similar in certain ways.

What type of story fascinates you? Have you ever had a vision of a story?

Comment below with your email and your answer and your entered to win a Art of Love Coffee Mug!

  6. I love a story that sucks me in with characters I love and love to hate. I want to see the world in my mind and stand beside the main protagonist in the middle for fray or feel the actual shivers of the first love's kiss. Yes I have a vision of a story and someday that vision will be brought to fruition. Thank you for making me think this morning and smile as I contemplate this comment :)

  7. I like stories that I can follow, but don't give up their clues too easily.
I want to be surprised, with plot twists and unforgettable characters I can connect with. Sometimes I want to root for the underdog as long as he/she is not too much of a wimp. I want to see characters grow throughout a book. When it ends I want to sit back and say Wow! that was a ride.
I am not a BDSM reader but I can take a whipping if it fits the storyline.
I read to escape and enjoy those rare moments I get to myself.
I don't mind a moral or a lesson but not to be beaten over the head.
I go through phases of genres. Mystery, historical romance or adventure, sci-fi, horror if there is a strong plot.
I think I dream plot lines regularly (last night I was dreaming about sales on boxed sets, but that was as a reader) but I don't get them onto paper. (Showing my age?)

  12. I love well written books of any genre. How they are written is the important thing. I would love to write always dreamed about it and as I was growing up I used to write all the time then I had a teacher who read my work to the class pulled it apart and then at the end said oh that wasn't so bad I really struggled to write after that even having to have tutoring. But hopefully I'll start again. cjlps23 at gmail dot com

    1. I think I responded to another question, but I love all books but horror. I write stories all the time in my head, I see something on tv or people on the street or even read something and then I'm of in my own mind telling their story never out loud or written down
