Joey W Hill Unrestrained Launch Party Giveaway #6 - Jennifer Zane

Welcome to Author Jennifer Zane

Congrats to Joey on the release of her latest book! Can't wait to read it.

Guest Post
I usually write about something that has happened to me or someone I know. Even though things seem completely crazy, it's happened before. In Plumb Crazy, there's a snake. (I won't say anything more so there isn't a spoiler, but it's a given since there's one on the cover)

When my son was in first grade, they had a class snake. It lived in a terrarium in the classroom. As part of a school fundraiser, the teacher offered to visit someone's house with the snake. It wasn't me, but we were invited to stop by the family's house who did purchase this 'honor.'

I had visions of the snake escaping and roaming the house. I'm cringing as I'm writing this!

What has happened to you that others might not believe?!

Veronica Miller is a plumber on a mission--buy out her dad and the family business is finally hers. One big, handsome problem stands in her way. And it's not a clogged toilet.

Jack Reid is the boy she mooned over in high school. He's back in town, but he's no longer a boy. Ten years ago he broke her heart, skipped town and never came back. Now he's a big shot lawyer in Florida whose uncle feigned a health crisis to trick Jack into coming back into town. Upon arrival Jack finds his uncle is gone, he's homeless, and forced to be roommates with the one woman he could never resist.

Jack discovers his lust hasn't cooled for the sexy Veronica, but neither has her heart forgiven him. A sex-toy educational party, romance novel writing gone awry, Goldie's meddling, an escape artist snake, a strange stalker in a fluffy pink coat, a house fire, plumbing gone awry, bitter cold, and a smart-faced garden gnome all conspire to force Jack and Veronica to work through a decade of baggage, disappointment, and unrequited lust while figuring out the mystery behind the stalker.

  1. Don't know that I've had anything happen that people wouldn't believe, my life is pretty boring, the closest I can think of is my 5'2" frame in the middle of bar fights when necessary, I almost got hit over the back of the head with a chair I knew the people behind me wouldn't hurt me but it was a close call, sometimes happens when your bartending.

    2. I've bartended/waitressed a few different places since I turned 21, this club was actually my 2nd bartending job this one bear and wine only and was actually a strip club. It now serves alcohol, wish I could've been there for that... or maybe not lol!

  4. All right, I'm laughing just from the blurb, and that has to be a good sign. And I love books where the heroine has a not-the-usual-thing profession. We have a very colorful male plumber, and he always has so many interesting tales to tell. Think it's a very eventful job (though not always the most lovely job, of course!). Jennifer, look forward to checking this out in the future, and thanks for coming to hang out with me today!

I was trying to think of something that has happened to me that people wouldn't believe, but I'm a hardcore BDSM author. They pretty much believe anything that happens to me (lol). Which means that what they wouldn't believe is how LITTLE actually happens to me. Being a writer doesn't leave much time for exciting happenings (grin). Have to spend all our time writing about them!

    2. Pyper, I'm glad I can give someone else the same adventures I give myself - in a safe, pleasant way (laughter). The roller coaster without the scary part. ;>

  8. I have the same thoughts about snakes whenever I see one. I was bitten by a baby alligator on my son's field trip. We lived in southern GA and went a swamp/animal rescue. Baby alligators do not like quick/fast movements.

    Book sounds fun!

  9. Eww.. no snakes! Did walk up on a bear hiking once. They look much bigger when you are suddenly next to them!
